THE ZEBRA MAN

I was immediately curious, I have never seen that much of a zebra pattern on a man - shoes, a T-shirt, a hat … And the story behind it is sooo…cute!

What do you like more - his outfit or his mission? :)

On that hot sunny day, a bunch of backpackers joined the daily tour. One of them was The Zebra Man. The nickname I gave him because of his outfit, but even more because of the reason why he dresses up like that. His mission is to raise awareness about the extinction of zebras in Africa!

He wears a lot of zebra details ALL. THE. TIME. And he was so happy to find a pedestrian crossing in front of the ZOO entrance in Zagreb painted as a zebra pattern (we also call the crossings “zebra”), a Zebra Taxi company (doesn’t exist anymore), and a tram entirely covered in zebra pattern! He even found out there is a bar called Zebra in Gajnice neighborhood.

We took a photo together at the end of the tour. It’s a nice reminder that I love being a tour guide because of all the interesting, unusual, quirky, fun people that I meet along the way.
