Wine Tastings that Turn into a Party
A chilly autumn day. One couple from the USA and one from Germany. The whole idea was to organize an elegant wine tasting in the oldest wine cellar in Zagreb. There is a significant wine production in a few regions in Croatia. A lot of wines get awarded on an international level and many wine maker are turning to niche products.
Our wine tasting in Bornstein included 4 glasses of wine per person - two white wines and two red wines. We ended up having 8 glasses each…And if you have ever done a wine tasting, you know that these wines hit differently. Two hours into the tasting, the guests were laughing and dancing and the evening was just amazing! I believe they will always cherish that day in Zagreb in their memory…if they remember any of it. :)
Another place that never dissapoints is Pupitres Bar, Cheese and Wine Bar and Zagreb Underground Festival. It is a wine festival organized in a WW2 tunnel - certainly the most unusal location you will ever visit for a wine tasting! Make sure you check out the wine tasting options when visiting Zagreb - you might be pleasantly surprised by the offer.
